Cafi-Cultura Puertorriqueña, Inc. is a private educational non-profit organization founded and incorporated in 2008 as per the Laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. It obtained tax exemption in 2009 under Section 1101 of the Internal Code of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (Number 2008-1101(4)475. A Board of Directors comprised of members of the agriculture, conservation, education and tourism sectors and business leaders governs the organization.
Cafi-Cultura Puertorriqueña, Inc. is also known as Cafiesencia, which is its brand name. Originally, the main purpose of Cafiesencia was to provide services to communities of the coffee zone but it has expanded its area of impact to all rural communities.
After hurricanes María and Irma devasted the island in 2017, Cafiesencia has been helping farmers and the general public in providing orientation on programs and initiatives to help them in their long term recovery.
